Remembrance 2023

Armistice Day, also known as Remembrance Day, takes place on 11 November every year, marking the official ending of World War I on the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month in 1918.  A two-minute silence is held to remember the people who have died in wars.

This year, the Royal British Legion, the largest Armed Forces charity, are remembering and honouring 'service'.  This is to mark the 75th anniversary of  Windrush and the contribution that generation made in fighting for and helping to rebuild Britain and the 70th anniversary of the end of the Korean war.

Eden Park High School will be supporting the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal. This year, as well as poppies, we have been sent a variety of items to be sold as part of the appeal, which are available from main reception.

The Library has a special display of books featuring wartime, which are available to borrow and browse.
