Crisis at Christmas

Inspired by our colleagues at TRS, staff and students at EPHS, choose to make a donation to the Crisis at Christmas appeal instead of sending Christmas cards and raised £253.98. 

This will buy 9 gifts of a Crisis Christmas to help those who are homeless this Christmas.

Get Caught Reading at Christmas!

One of the loveliest things to do at Christmas is cuddle up and enjoy a good book. Add a hot chocolate topped with marshmallows and snuggle up under a blanket to make it even more of a treat!

You may also like to take part in the Reading Bingo Challenge! There are prizes to be won for four in a row and a full house!  Pick up a form from the Library – book suggestions are available on the Library Instagram @ephs_library.  There is still time to request and borrow a book using Oliver!

Don’t forget that you can download e-books and audio books for free from your local public Library.

Alex Wheatle BBC dramatisation

Steve McQueen’s much anticipated dramatisation of the award winning author Alex Wheatle’s life story will be aired this Sunday on BBC One at 9pm.

We were lucky enough to meet Alex Wheatle in person, when he visited EPHS in January of this year to perform for our Year 8 and 9 students. Everyone was transfixed and inspired by his story and even the most reluctant readers were clamouring to buy his books and meet Alex.

A selection of Alex’s books are available to borrow from the EPHS Libraries.
