Complete Issues - articles and statistical information.  Covering a range of topical issues, this a great resource for EPHS students and staff.  You will need to log in using the school username and password.  Ask your Librarians for more information.

FT Newspaper - all EPHS students aged over 16 and staff now have access to all Financial Times content. To register with FT.com and create your own individual account click here.  This is IP restricted, therefore you must be connected to EPHS WiFi to access.


JSTOR - peer-reviewed scholarly journals, respected literary journals, academic monographs, research reports, and primary sources from libraries’ special collections and archives.  Register for a free account to gain access to articles.

DIRECTORY OF OPEN ACCESS JOURNALS - Open Access Journals from around the world.

The British Library Online Resources - objects and articles from Shakespeare and An Inspector Calls to Windrush Stories and Women’s Rights.


Drama Online is a study resource for Drama and English Literature students, to which the EPHS Drama department subscribes.  It provides access to play texts, audio plays, videos and scholarly books.  Ask your Librarians or Drama teachers for login details.

Newspapers for Schools - free access to over 35 million newspapers articles from over 150 UK national and regional newspapers from 2006 to now. Ask your Librarians for the username and password.

Search using Google Scholar - this allows you to access academic articles. Watch the video below for advice on how best to search.

REFERENCING:

‘A’ level work must be referenced carefully using the Harvard system. Below are some websites and resources that show you how:

Anglia Ruskin University http://libweb.anglia.ac.uk/referencing/harvard.htm . This is a brilliant resource which shows you how to reference everything and anything, including film and images.

Neil’s Toolbox - http://www.neilstoolbox.com/bibliography-creator/  - this is the Harvard Style Reference Generator website, which creates references that can be pasted into a word document.

University of Leeds - EPQ online resources - bite sized films offering 'tips, tricks and techniques' to help you develop and write your academic essay.

OxLibris: Study Skills - study skills videos and guides to help with your EPQ, compiled by the Bodleian Libraries Education Team.

Public Library resources:

Bromley Libraries homepage – make use of books, online resources, and the study space available at Bromley public libraries.  Search their catalogue and discover online resources to support your research.

Resources include:

Access to research - journal articles on a wide range of subjects

Times Digital Archive and British Library newspapers collection - range of newspaper archives covering 19th century to present day

Britannica online - online encyclopaedia with articles. biographies and links to other online resources. 

You simply need your library card number and your PIN to gain free access via the Overdrive website or the Libby app.

If you aren't already a member, you can join online and get a temporary membership number and PIN that will give you access to all the library resources.  If you are a member but can't remember your PIN, you can reset it at https://prism.librarymanagementcloud.co.uk/bromley/join.  If you live outside of the Bromley Borough your local public library will offer similar services and resources.
