Award-Winning Author Alex Wheatle to visit EPHS!

Unfortunately this event has been postponed.  Alex is an amazing author and a brilliant speaker and we look forward to being able to run this event later in the year instead. 

We are delighted to announce that award-winning author, Alex Wheatle MBE will be visiting Eden Park High School on Thursday, 30th March.  Alex will be performing for students in Years 8, 9 and 12 and signing copies of selected books:

Alex, also known as the Brixton Bard, has been writing novels, plays and lyrics and performing to great acclaim for many years. He was awarded an MBE by the Queen for his services to Literature in 2008, and he won the Guardian Children’s Fiction Prize for his second YA novel, Crongton Knights in 2016.  

Most recently, his book Cane Warriors was shortlisted for the Carnegie Medal 2022 and won the Young Quills Historical Fiction Award 2021.  Alex has also been the subject of one of Steve McQueen's Small Axe films for the BBC.
