Children's Book Awards 2022

Below is a round up of some of the long and short lists of some of our favourite children's and YA book awards.  The Diverse Book Awards and Bookseller YA Book Prize are open for 2022 submissions now.  Watch this space for the announcement of the winners later in the year!  

Yoto Carnegie Greenaway Awards 2022

There are so many brilliant books on the Yoto Carnegie & Greenaway (CKG) Awards longlist, many of which we have in the EPHS Libraries. It’s going to be very difficult for the judges to whittle it down to just 8 books for the shortlist, to be announced on 18th March.

CILIP Carnegie Medal Longlist 2022/ 

EPHS students will be shadowing the Carnegie Award again this year - we can’t wait!

Waterstones Children's Book Awards

The Waterstones Children’s Book Prize shortlist 2022 has been announced. The award is split into three categories - illustrated books, books for younger and books for older readers. As usual, there are a great selection of books on the lists including The Crossing by Manjeet Mann, winner of the Costa Children’s Book Award 2021

The Crossing has also been long listed for this year’s CKG awards along side books by EPHS favourites Patrice Lawrence for Rat and Alex Wheatle for Cane Warriors.

Blue Peter Book Awards

Blue Peter Book Awards 2022 | BookTrust
The Blue Peter Book Awards shortlist 2022 has been announced.  Included on the list are Helen Rutter's The Boy Who Made Everyone Laugh and Good News by Rashmi Sirdeshpande - both books are available to borrow now from the Lower Library!




The Lollies Laugh Out Loud Book Awards 2022

The winners of the Lollies have been announced.  The Super Miraculous Journey of Freddie Yates by Jenny Pearson and Rob Biddulph has won was voted Best Laugh Out Loud Book for 9-13-year-olds.  This brilliant book is available to borrow from the Lower Library as well as other books by Jenny Pearson.
