World Book Night 2023 - pledge to read more

World Book Night is a national annual celebration of reading organised by The Reading Agency with a focus on reaching people who don’t normally read for pleasure or with limited access to books.  It takes place on 23rd April.

As well as their free book giveaway and #ReadingHour, this year they have launched the Road to Reading initiative, a 10-week commitment to reading (or listening to an audio book) for pleasure for just 30 minutes a week to see what difference this can make to your well being and mental health.

This year's list of titles features a mix of YA and adult novels, dyslexia friendly quick reads and non-fiction.  To see the full list click here.  One of the books, Hello Mum by Bernadine Evaristo, is available to borrow now from the Upper Library.
