Armistice Day, also known as Remembrance Day, takes place on 11th November every year, marking the official ending of World War I on the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month in 1918. A two-minute silence is held to remember the people who have died in wars.
Eden Park High School will be supporting the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal as usual this year. A variety of items are being sold at Main Reception as part of the appeal.
We have lots of war themed fiction and non-fiction in the Libraries for you to borrow. In the Lower Library we have our 'Once Upon A Wartime' display to inspire you, with books such as The Diary of a Young Girl by Anne Frank and The Missing: the True Story of My Family in World War II by Michael Rosen to borrow.
